Tension Headaches

Botox for headaches is a specialised treatment designed to relieve tension and reduce headache frequency by targeting specific trigger points in the head, neck, and upper shoulder region.

Small, precise injections are placed into key areas such as the temples, the back of the head (occipital region), and the neck, where tiny muscles and muscle groups often remain chronically tight. These muscles can contribute to tension headaches by compressing nerves and maintaining persistent muscle strain.

Rather than completely paralysing the muscles, Botox gently relaxes them, reducing excessive contraction and interrupting the pain–tension cycle that leads to recurrent headaches. By calming these overactive muscles, the treatment can decrease muscle tension, ease pressure on surrounding nerves, and improve overall comfort and mobility in the neck and head.

This approach is commonly used for tension-type headaches and may also benefit patients with migraine-related muscle tension. Results typically develop gradually over days to weeks and can provide relief for several months.
